Carbon offsetting funds solutions to reduce carbon emissions now. Frequently carbon offsetting reduces emissions much faster than you can as an individual.

Our Unique Green Offering

Our Campervan Rental Service in South Wales is now Carbon Neutral. Not only do we calculate and offset the carbon cost of your hire mileage, but also calculate your entire journey, whether you came to us by Plane, Train, Car, Boat.

We donate that total figure to Trees for Life  Their commitment is to revitalise a wild forest in the Highlands of Scotland, providing space for wildlife to flourish and communities to thrive.

The problem

Engines produce greenhouses gases, particles and water vapour which are released into the atmosphere. It’s this mixture that makes them so polluting, but the focus of offsetting is on carbon dioxide (CO2) as it’s the most common greenhouse gas. Carbon offsetting doesn’t get rid of the carbon dioxide produced when you travel – that still goes into the atmosphere.

One solution

What it does do is try and make up for your share of the CO2 which gets released by reducing it somewhere else instead, which will slow help to down the global rise in carbon dioxide levels. This is usually based on measuring how many tonnes of CO2 are produced by each journey and investing in a project which reduces CO2 levels by the same amount.

Carbon Offsetting accredited by the Woodland Carbon Code

Since trees have a vital role in the balancing of CO2 and oxygen levels, widespread deforestation across the world has also had a negative impact by releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere. Trees for Life carbon offsetting service helps our businesses achieve CO2 neutrality and mitigate our impact on the planet by offsetting carbon in the wild Caledonian Forest, Scotland.

When you consider the carbon footprint of a typical UK family holiday in a campervan against that of a flight to Spain, it’s easy to see why a campervan holiday becomes attractive for minimising the impact your holiday may have on the environment. A return flight to Spain for a family of 4 will generate around 1.4 tonnes of CO2 emissions compared to 0.2 tonnes for a 600 mile round trip in one of our campervans. Figures from CO2 calculator –

The accredited carbon offsetting site is located at the conservation estate, Dundreggan, and has the capacity to offset over 50,000 tonnes of CO2. This carefully planted site – containing over 250,000 new native trees which have been planted by 530 passionate volunteers – is validated and verified under the Woodland Carbon Code, the gold-standard for woodland carbon sequestration. The Code offers carbon credit buyers the assurance that each woodland scheme will deliver the benefits that we say it will, and that that woodland represents genuine new planting.

Projects are certified to ISO standards by a UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) accredited third party and an ongoing monitoring programme for the woodlands is agreed between the parties.
